How do I show changing text from a data source?

Follow this workflow to show changing text from a data source.

Before you start

Prepare the table/data source and identify the value to display.

Where to find it

Sources > Add > Dynamic Text.

Steps

Open the scene that will contain the source.
Choose Add in Sources.
Select Dynamic Text in Create Source.
Enter a name and choose New.
Choose Group.
Set Stretch, Fixed Point, and Aspect Ratio.
Set the Box Size.
Open Dynamic Content and select content in the matching group.
Choose Save and Close (or OK where shown).
Check the source in Preview before taking it to Program.

Check the result

Change a test value and confirm the intended text updates.

Helpful information

The fixed box keeps the scene composition stable as content changes. Free Size enables independent box height. Image and video offer Content Transition. Text uses the appearance controls in Text properties. See the related source page for the remaining appearance/playback controls.
