How do I capture one application window?

Follow this workflow to capture one application window.

Before you start

Open the application window you want to show.

Where to find it

Sources > Add > Window Capture.

Steps

Open the scene that will contain the source.
Choose Add in Sources.
Select Window Capture in Create Source.
Enter a name and choose New.
Open the target application.
Choose Window.
Use Automatic Capture Method unless another method is needed.
Choose Window Match Priority.
Set cursor and supported audio/capture options.
Choose Save and Close (or OK where shown).
Check the source in Preview before taking it to Program.

Check the result

Confirm the intended window and whether its border is included.

Helpful information

Client Area excludes the window border where supported. Force SDR adjusts supported HDR capture. Multi-adapter capture is for windows that need it. A saved specific-window selection remains when the window is temporarily unavailable.

If something is wrong

If the window disappears, check its availability and saved matching options.
