Game Capture
Capture a supported game or graphics application.
Before you start
Open the intended collection and layout. For capture or network inputs, have the device or sender available.
Where to find it
Sources > Add > Game Capture.
Use it
- Open the scene that will contain the source.
- Choose Add in Sources.
- Select Game Capture in Create Source.
- Enter a name and choose New.
- Choose Mode.
- For specific-window mode, choose Window.
- Set Window Match Priority.
- Choose audio, cursor, overlay, and transparency options.
- Choose Save and Close (or OK where shown).
- Check the source in Preview before taking it to Program.
Controls and additional tasks
Shortcut mode captures the foreground target when its start action is invoked; assign that action in File > Shortcuts. There is no default game-capture key. Limit capture framerate reduces capture load. Protected-game capture and third-party overlays work only where supported. Multi-adapter compatibility can reduce performance. Hook Rate changes how often capture checks for a connection. RGB10A2 Color Space applies to that output format.

If something is wrong
If capture cannot start, check the selected mode/window and the game restrictions. Do not assume every protected game permits capture.
Stop or remove
Hide the source to stop showing its picture. Use its available playback/connection stop control when you need to stop the input itself. Remove the source item from the scene when it is no longer needed. Shared sources can still be used in other scenes.
