WebSocket remote control

Allow compatible controllers to connect to MCast remotely.

Before you start

Select the intended collection or item before changing its settings.

Where to find it

Tools > WebSocket.

Use it

  1. Enable WebSocket server.
  2. Set Server Port.
  3. Keep Require authentication enabled when sharing access.
  4. Set or generate a password.
  5. Choose Save.
  6. Open Show Connection Info.
  7. Enter those details in the intended controller.

Controls and additional tasks

Use only on a trusted local network: traffic is not encrypted. System tray alerts and connection activity logging report connections. Connected Sessions lists clients; Kick disconnects the selected client. Connection Info offers copy controls and a QR code; it can contain sensitive access details.

Additional workflow details

Use this server only on a trusted local network; its traffic is not encrypted. Connect Info supplies the connection endpoint and authentication details. Review connected clients and disconnect an unexpected client.
