Remote Screen

Receive screen sharing and audio from a contributor through a share link.

Before you start

Open the intended collection and layout. For capture or network inputs, have the device or sender available.

Where to find it

Sources > Add > Remote Screen.

Use it

Open the scene that will contain the source.
Choose Add in Sources.
Select Remote Screen in Create Source.
Enter a name and choose New.
Choose Generate Link.
Copy the Share link.
Share it with the intended contributor outside MCast.
Wait for the contributor to connect.
Set the offered receive size/FPS and choose Connect.
Choose Save and Close (or OK where shown).
Check the source in Preview before taking it to Program.

Controls and additional tasks

Settings and Save remain unavailable until a valid link exists. Use 4K if available requires a 4K plan, capable camera, and more bandwidth; otherwise use Full HD or lower. Visual sizes are 1–8192 pixels and receiver FPS is 1–60. The Connection control starts/stops this source independently.

Generate Link	Generate a secure remote-source link for the contributor.
Remote link	Send this link to the remote contributor.
Copy share link	Copy share link.
Width	Selected remote source transform width in pixels.
Width	Adjust selected remote source transform width. Range: 1 to 8192 pixels. Double-click the thumb to reset to the value from when this dialog opened. Minimum: 1; Maximum: 8192.
Height	Selected remote source transform height in pixels.
Height	Adjust selected remote source transform height. Range: 1 to 8192 pixels. Double-click the thumb to reset to the value from when this dialog opened. Minimum: 1; Maximum: 8192.
FPS	Custom remote receiver capture frame rate from 1 to 60 FPS.
Connect or stop this source independently.	Connect or disconnect this remote source.
Save and Close	Save Remote Source settings. Shortcut: Ctrl+S.
Cancel	Close without saving changes.

If something is wrong

If preview stays blank, check link generation and whether the contributor has connected and granted browser media permission.

Stop or remove

Hide the source to stop showing its picture. Use its available playback/connection stop control when you need to stop the input itself. Remove the source item from the scene when it is no longer needed. Shared sources can still be used in other scenes.
