Solid

Create a flat color rectangle or background.

Before you start

Open the intended collection and layout. For capture or network inputs, have the device or sender available.

Where to find it

Sources > Add > Solid.

Use it

  1. Open the scene that will contain the source.
  2. Choose Add in Sources.
  3. Select Solid in Create Source.
  4. Enter a name and choose New.
  5. Choose Color.
  6. Set Opacity.
  7. Set Width and Height.
  8. Choose Save and Close (or OK where shown).
  9. Check the source in Preview before taking it to Program.

Controls and additional tasks

Opacity edits the color transparency from 0 to 100%. Width and Height set the selected item size, 1–8192 pixels. Double-click a slider thumb to restore the value from when the dialog opened.

ColorChoose the solid fill color. The opacity slider edits this color's alpha channel.
OpacityExact alpha percentage for the selected color.
OpacityAdjust solid alpha from 0 to 100 percent. Double-click the thumb to reset to the value from when this dialog opened. Minimum: 0; Maximum: 100.
WidthSelected Solid Source transform width in pixels. Range: 1 to 8192.
WidthAdjust selected Solid Source transform width. Range: 1 to 8192 pixels. Double-click the thumb to reset to the value from when this dialog opened. Minimum: 1; Maximum: 8192.
HeightSelected Solid Source transform height in pixels. Range: 1 to 8192.
HeightAdjust selected Solid Source transform height. Range: 1 to 8192 pixels. Double-click the thumb to reset to the value from when this dialog opened. Minimum: 1; Maximum: 8192.
Save and CloseSave Solid Source settings. Shortcut: Ctrl+S.
CancelClose without saving changes.

Example

Create a semi-transparent black rectangle behind a title.

Stop or remove

Hide the source to stop showing its picture. Use its available playback/connection stop control when you need to stop the input itself. Remove the source item from the scene when it is no longer needed. Shared sources can still be used in other scenes.
