Preview, Program, and Studio Mode
Preview is the shot you prepare; Program is the shot supplied to Program outputs. Studio Mode lets you prepare a change before taking it live.
Before you start
Select the intended collection or item before changing its settings.
Where to find it
Layout workspace.
Use it
- Select the next scene in Preview.
- Choose the scene transition and ms duration.
- Check the picture and audio.
- Choose Transition to take Preview to Program.
- Use Cut for an immediate switch.
- For a manual transition, drag the T-Bar.
Controls and additional tasks
Duplicate Scene protects Program while preparing scene layout, visibility, crop, and transform changes in Preview. Duplicate Sources also isolates supported visual properties and filters; it requires Duplicate Scene and uses more resources. Swap Preview/Program Scenes After Transition puts the previous Program scene back in Preview. Quick Transitions provide named transition buttons. Draw, media, browser interaction, and Scene Zoom controls follow the selected source.

| Swap Preview/Program Scenes After Transition | After a Program transition, move the previous Program scene to Preview if it still exists. |

If something is wrong
If Program changes while preparing a shot, review Duplicate Scene and Duplicate Sources settings. If a quick button uses an unexpected duration, edit its Quick Transitions duration.
