Add, reuse, and manage sources
A source supplies a picture, sound, text, or another production input. Add sources to scenes, then arrange visual sources in Preview.
Before you start
Open the intended collection and layout. For capture or network inputs, have the device or sender available.
Where to find it
Sources panel.
Use it
- Open the target scene.
- Choose Add in Sources.
- Search or choose the source type.
- Enter a name and choose New, or select an existing source and choose Select.
- Configure its properties.
- Choose whether Make source visible is enabled.
- Check Preview.
Controls and additional tasks
Select reuses the same source. Duplicate creates a separate source. Paste (Reference) reuses a copied source; Paste (Duplicate) creates an independent copy. Source cards offer Properties, Trigger, Lock/Unlock, Show/Hide, and supported audio or playback buttons. Right-click for filters, grouping, order, transforms, projection, screenshots, and interaction. Delete All in Create Source removes unused sources; Delete is available only for a source not used anywhere. List color is an organizer, not an image effect.

If something is wrong
If a source is missing from the list, open the correct scene. If a source cannot be selected on the canvas, check visibility and lock.
Stop or remove
Hide the source to stop showing its picture. Use its available playback/connection stop control when you need to stop the input itself. Remove the source item from the scene when it is no longer needed. Shared sources can still be used in other scenes.
