Position, crop, order, and bounds
Arrange a selected visual source on the canvas. Bounds define the rectangle used to fit, fill, or stretch an item.
Before you start
Select the intended collection or item before changing its settings.
Where to find it
Edit > Transform; source right-click menu.
Use it
- Select an unlocked visual source in Preview.
- Move or resize it with the canvas handles.
- Use Edit > Transform > Fit to screen to keep its proportions.
- Use Order > Move Up or Move Down to change overlap.
- Use Copy Transform and Paste Transform to copy placement.
- Use Reset Transform to restore the selected transform.
Controls and additional tasks
Fill screen fills the canvas and can crop edges. Stretch to screen can distort proportions. Centre to screen, vertical/horizontal centering, and the nine Align positions place the source. No Bounds removes a fixed fitting rectangle. Inner Bounds fits within it; Outer Bounds fills it; Stretch to Bounds stretches to it. Bounds Alignment chooses where content sits within the rectangle. Rotation and flips change orientation. Preview Scaling changes the editor view, not output size. Lock Preview prevents accidental editing. See the shortcut reference for context-specific keys.
Example
Fit a slide image to the screen, then position a camera inset above it.
If something is wrong
If an image is distorted, choose Fit instead of Stretch. If it is hidden behind another item, move it up in Order.
