How do I clean up or adjust microphone sound?

Follow this workflow to clean up or adjust microphone sound.

Before you start

Prepare a voice sample at normal speaking level.

Where to find it

Audio Mixer input menu > Filters.

Steps

  1. Open the input Filters.
  2. Choose Add MCast Filter for a built-in effect.
  3. For a plug-in, choose Add 3rd Party Filter.
  4. Select a discovered plug-in and choose Add.
  5. Adjust controls and check sound.
  6. Move filters into the required order.

Check the result

Compare enabled and bypassed results without clipping.

Helpful information

Rescan refreshes standard VST3 folders. Open Plugin Interface opens the selected plug-in controls. Enable/bypass, Reset, Delete, and Save as Preset manage the chain. Filters run top to bottom; ordering changes their combined sound.

If something is wrong

If speech is cut off or distorted, bypass the newest filter and review its settings and filter order.
