How do I add a microphone?
Follow this workflow to add a microphone.
Before you start
Connect the microphone and grant requested microphone permissions.
Where to find it
Sources > Add > Audio Input.
Steps
- Open the scene that will contain the source.
- Choose Add in Sources.
- Select Audio Input in Create Source.
- Enter a name and choose New.
- Choose Device.
- Enable Use Device Timestamps only when the device timing is reliable.
- Choose Save and Close (or OK where shown).
- Check the source in Preview before taking it to Program.
Check the result
Speak and confirm the meter, then record and listen to a short sample.
Helpful information
Default follows the configured default input. Adjust volume, routing, balance, monitoring, and sync in the audio mixer.
If something is wrong
If silent, check device selection, permissions, mute, Master/bus sends, and output track assignment.
