Output profiles: Broadcast, Recording, and External
An output profile saves how a picture and its sound will be delivered. A destination attaches that profile to a layout. Creating a profile does not start the output.
Before you start
Open the collection and layout you intend to use. Prepare the devices, storage, or receiving service required by this workflow.
Where to find it
Use the layout Output menu: Broadcast Output Profile, Recording Output Profile, or External Output Profile.
Set it up
- Choose the profile family for your destination.
- Choose New to create a profile, or select one and choose Edit.
- Name the profile and choose its feed.
- Configure its delivery settings and audio tracks.
- Choose Save.
- Attach it through Output > Destinations in the intended layout.
Choose the right family
| Profile | Use it for | Next guide |
|---|---|---|
| Broadcast | A broadcast provider or supported broadcast endpoint; optional backup recording. | Broadcast profile |
| Recording | Local video/audio files; optional isolated recordings and marks. | Recording profile |
| External | Monitor, network sender, or supported output hardware. | External profile |
Profile, destination, and type
A profile stores settings. A destination makes that profile available to a layout. Broadcast Type or external Output Type selects the delivery method. Output Feed selects the picture. Virtual camera Output Type instead selects the camera feed; configure it in Virtual cameras.
After setup
The profile appears in its family list. Attach it to a layout before starting. Check the attached layout and receiving picture/audio; changing the editor-active layout does not retarget an already running output.
