How do I record a show?

Follow this workflow to record a show.

Before you start

Prepare a writable output folder with sufficient space, the picture feed, and the audio mix.

Where to find it

Layout Output > Recording Output Profile.

Steps

  1. Open Output > Recording Output Profile > New in the intended layout.
  2. Enter Recording Output Name and choose Output Feed.
  3. Enable Record video, Record audio, or both for the intended recording.
  4. Choose compatible render settings and File Format. Select Output Folder with Browse.
  5. Configure Audio Track. Assign Master for the final mix or select the required bus/input.
  6. Review file naming and Overwrite existing files. Enable replacement only when intended.
  7. Choose Save and attach through Recording Destination.
  8. Start recording from the layout output control and wait for the running state.
  9. Stop when finished, then open the resulting file from the selected folder.

Check the result

Stop a short sample and open the saved file. Check picture, duration, and every expected sound track before recording the full show.

Helpful information

Use a new test folder or unique file names for the first sample. For separate isolated files, use ISO; for independently selectable sound tracks in one compatible file, use multi-track recording.

If something is wrong

If there is no file, check the running state, destination attachment, Output Folder, permissions, available space, and validation message. If sound is missing, check Record audio and track assignments.
