Recording, broadcasting & outputs

Which output profile should I use?

Choose a Broadcast, Recording, or External Output Profile for the delivery you need, then attach it to a destination.

Before you start

Decide whether you are going live, saving a file, or feeding an external receiver.

Where to find it

Use the layout Output menu: Broadcast Output Profile, Recording Output Profile, or External Output Profile.

Steps

  1. Decide the result: live broadcast, saved media file, or delivery to an external receiver.
  2. Choose Broadcast Output Profile for a broadcast account or supported live endpoint.
  3. Choose Recording Output Profile for recording files.
  4. Choose External Output Profile for a monitor, network receiver, or supported hardware output.
  5. Configure the selected profile’s picture feed, delivery settings, and audio.
  6. Save and attach it through the matching destination family before starting.
  7. Use the Virtual Cameras dock when another application should receive a camera picture.

Check the result

Confirm the selected profile family matches the intended result.

Helpful information

The Output profiles: Broadcast, Recording, and External guide explains the controls and options for this task. Save edited settings where offered, and check the intended scene, input, or destination before using them during a show.

If something is wrong

Use Broadcast for live delivery, Recording for files, and External for a receiver; saving alone does not start any output.
