Recording, broadcasting & outputs

Create a Recording Output Profile

Save the picture, sound, folder, file format, and recording behavior for a layout.

Before you start

Open the collection and layout you intend to use. Prepare the devices, storage, or receiving service required by this workflow.

Where to find it

Layout Output > Recording Output Profile.

Set it up

  1. Choose New and enter Recording Output Name.
  2. Choose Output Feed.
  3. Enable Record video, Record audio, or both.
  4. Choose the render settings source and compatible presets.
  5. Choose Output Folder with Browse.
  6. Choose File Format and Filename Format.
  7. Configure Audio Track.
  8. Choose Save.
  9. Attach it through Recording Destination before starting.

Media and transparency

Record video and Record audio decide what is saved. Alpha Channel is available only for compatible recording formats/settings. ISO recording on uses configured tracks to create isolated files; see ISO recording.

File names and replacement

The layout name is added first. Filename tokens are %CCYY, %MM, %DD, %hh, %mm, %ss, $destination, $suffix, and $ordinal. Generate file name without spaces removes spaces from generated names. Overwrite existing files can replace an existing recording. Enable it only when replacement is intended.

Recording Mode

Chunked recording creates separately finalized files according to Chunk Duration. Create MP4 copy after recording produces an additional copy when the combination supports it. Muxer Arguments accepts format-specific options; keep it unchanged unless you have settings appropriate for the chosen format.

Marking

Manual and automatic marking identify ranges for later clip export. Beginning Buffer (seconds) and End Buffer (seconds) extend a mark. Configure automatic event kinds only as needed; see Recording marks.

Verify a sample

Attach the profile, make a short local sample, stop, and open its file. Check the picture and every expected sound track. If start is blocked, review the folder, format, and audio assignments.
